The journey to blonde hair requires the right maintenance and care to ensure that lightened locks stay healthy and vibrant. Bec’s blonde hair treatment was achieved by 2020 Australian hairdresser of the year Jamie Furlan, alongside expert colourist Danni Solier.
The decision to dye your hair blonde is thrilling. Once you know that blonde locks are for you, the end result has gorgeous potential. However, your journey doesn’t end with your salon appointment. Going from brown to blonde also means creating the right post-treatment routine.
Just like Bec, you should work with your stylist to achieve the right tone for you. Bec and our hair professional Danni consulted on tone, processes and aftercare. When going blonde, investing in hair care specific to your new colour means it can stay that way. Our Blond Absolu range is formulated to ensure newly blondes stay stunning and healthy.
The Blonde Experience
Blonde is always an in-season colour, whether it’s Platinum, Californian, or Caramel. To start her journey, Bec decided on the perfect shade for her skin tone. With the expert advice of our team, Bec chose to go a soft, creamy shade of blonde.
The blonde experience is all about working with your stylist from the initial consultation through to the creation of your post-dye routine. By doing this, you’ll keep your new crown looking bright and salon-made.
How to get blonde hair the right way
Dying your hair blonde is a delicate process that requires time and specific techniques. Trust the guidance given to you by your stylist and allow for the maintenance that blonde hair requires.
To achieve Bec’s desired look, Danni and Jamie used baby-lights around the face to brighten and frame her facial structure. They then applied highlights and free-hand balayage through her mid lengths and ends to create an overall, beautiful blonde.
Dying hair from brown to blonde can be a transformative experience. It can take time and a little extra care, but those who do it properly say it’s worth it.
How to maintain blonde hair
Knowing how to look after blonde hair is key to keeping the tone you’ve worked so hard to achieve happy and shining. Blonde hair treatment requires blonde-specific aftercare products. During Bec’s time at Xiang Melbourne Salon, Jamie and Danni walked her through the simple aftercare routine, easing any nervousness about her transformation.
Once you go blonde from brunette or bronde, use Cicaextreme’s nourishing formulas to strengthen and hydrate your new shade. By using purple shampoos, nourishing masks, and applying the proper care, you’ll be glowing long after you leave the salon.
Blond Absolu Le Bain Cicaextreme Shampoo-in-Cream
Your first step in blonde hair maintainance is a nourishing shampoo. This will help to restore hydration to post-lightened locks and keep brassiness at bay. Our Blond Absolu Le Bain Cicaextreme Shampoo-in-Cream uses hyaluronic acid (which can hold water up to 1000 times its own weight) to intensely hydrate. Antioxidant-rich edelweiss oil is also included to ensure that hair is protected against future damage. Apply the cream to wet hair and massage in from roots to tips, adding more water to create a dense foam. Rinse out using warm water.
Blond Absolu Masque Cicaextreme Conditioner & Hair Mask
Second in your blonde hair routine is a deeply rich blonde-specific conditioner. Our Blond Absolu Masque Cicaextreme Conditioner & Hair Mask is a gel-in-cream mask that works to reconstruct lightened hair. Ingredients like hyaluronic acid prevent hair breakage and help hair fibre to regain strength. Hair will look and feel hydrated and shinier. Our conditioner is designed in tandem with Cicaextreme Shampoo-in-Cream. After shampooing, apply the conditioner to damp hair and leave on for five minutes to allow full absorption. Rinse with warm water.
Huile Cicaextreme Hair Repair Oil
Hair repair oils are hugely transformational in bringing post-dyed hair back to life. Our Huile Cicaextreme Hair Repair Oil is a leave-in concentrate that uses edelweiss hair oil to seal raised cuticles and decrease split ends. For those who style their locks, our hair oil also doubles as a heat protectant for up to 230 degrees. If applying after you’ve washed hair use 1 to 2 pumps and pull through your locks. Follow with styling. If hair is dry, apply 1 pump to your lengths and ends.
Blond Absolu Cicanuit Night Serum
Night time is a unique opportunity to restore damaged fibres after colouring hair. Using Blond Absolu Cicanuit Night Serum will heal split ends incurred in the dyeing process and beyond. This serum uses hyaluronic acid to recover hair, and its lightweight formula leaves hair feeling smooth in the morning. Before bed, apply 2 to 4 pumps on lengths and ends. Frizz is removed by morning and there’s no need to rinse product off.
Blond Absolu Cicaplasme Hair Primer
Primers aren’t only for face. Using a leave-in primer ensures coloured hair keeps its tone and fortifies against future damage. Blond Absolu Cicaplasme Hair Primer is our most intense leave-in treatment, helping fibres to retain strength against external irritants like dry air and the sun. The lavender-coloured booster also works as a heat protectant for styling up to 230 degrees. When applying to towel-dried hair, comb 2 to 4 pumps down to the tips. You can use our Primer on dry hair to reduce frizz and add shine.
